laser hair removal

What lasers do you use and how long does treatment take?

We use industry leading medical grade lasers. A laser hair removal treatment can take anywhere from 5-35 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. Any way you look at it, you can be in and out on your lunch break for a medical-grade, virtually pain-free treatment with lasting results.

How long should I wait between laser treatments?

We advise 4-6 weeks in between your laser treatments, this depends on the area you are treating and your hair cycle. We will monitor your results as your treatments go along and stretch our treatment when needed.

How many treatments do I need?

This will vary from person to person, however we would recommend between 6 -10 treatments for the best results. Our experienced therapists will develop an individual treatment plan catered to your needs.

How should I prepare?

  • Avoid lengthy direct sun/UV exposure up to 4 weeks prior to your treatment

  • Remove any fake or spray tan on the area before the treatment

  • Shave the area between 12-24 hours before your treatment and ensure the area is clean

  • Do not wax or tweeze up to 6 weeks prior to your treatment

  • Avoid chemical peels or laser resurfacing up to 2 weeks prior to your treatment

  • Exfoliate to remove any dead skin build up

  • Avoid excessive sun/UV exposure on area being treated up to four weeks prior to treatment, this includes sunbed or tan injections)

  • Avoid using topical creams/moisturisers and perfumes on the area being treated before appointment

  • Keep us updated on any medical conditions throughout your treatment

What should I do after my treatment?

  • Use our Calming Aloe Gel to remove any excess heat from the skin. A cold pack/towel after treatment will also work wonders to remove any excess heat from the skin

  • Lightly exfoliate the treated area five days after treatment and consistently in between treatments to assist in removing the dead hair follicle and keep your skin extra smooth

  • Avoid anything that induces heat such as tight clothing, exercise, UV exposure, overly hot showers, saunas and steam rooms, within 48 hours after treatment

  • Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks & always apply sunscreen to the treated area

  • Avoid chemical heavy creams and deodorants to the treated areas within 24 hours of treatment

Will all hair be removed? Or can it be just reduced?

It can take a few sessions to see complete hair reduction. If you’re not ready to reduce all hair talk to your therapist about limiting the treatment plan.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

One of the benefits of laser hair removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. Our advanced cooling machines used in all laser treatments cools your skin before, during and post treatment to minimise any discomfort.

I have blonde hair, can I still get Laser Hair Removal?

Unfortunately, blonde, grey/white and some types of red hair do not respond to treatment. Laser hair removal cannot treat these colours as they do not produce any pigment. Therefore, the laser will not be able to attract hairs of this colour and will essentially miss them.

Can I have Laser Hair Removal over the top of tattoos?

No, unfortunately we cannot put our laser technology over the top of tattoos.

What is included in a Full Body Laser Hair Removal treatment?

The full body laser hair removal package includes all of the laser hair removal areas offered by Laser Clinics UK, as set out in the marketing materials. This package does not include laser hair removal areas that are not currently offered by Laser Clinics UK. For example, scalp, eyebrows and ears.

Can I elect areas to remove from my full body laser hair removal package?

Yes, you can elect to remove areas, however, no reduction in price is available where areas have been removed from the package.

Can I split my full body laser hair removal package across multiple days?

No, full body laser hair removal packages must be completed in one appointment

Skin Treatments

Will chemical peels literally make my skin peel off?

This will depend on the type of peel used, the condition of the skin, medication taken and general health and well-being. Certain medications and health issues may be a contraindication to a chemical peel as they can increase adverse side effects. Redness, inflammation and mild to moderate peeling is usual for 1 – 5 days post peel. The stronger the peel, the more intense the redness, peeling and downtime.

How do I know what skin treatment is right for me?

Everyone's skin is different and everyone will have different skin goals. At Laser Clinics, we truly love educating people about their skin. That's why we offer FREE consultations to give you access to highly trained Skin Therapists that will arm you with all the information you need about the treatments that are best suited to you. And, through a personalised treatment plan, we'll work together to help you achieve glowing skin. Our consultations are no obligation. So what have you got to lose?

What will my skin look like when I walk out of the clinic - will I need time off work?

Each person’s skin is different – so your response will vary, but the majority of our skin treatments require no downtime. Your Skin Therapist will take you through a post-treatment care regime that will fast-track your results.

Cosmetic Injections

Are there any side effects after having Dermal Fillers?

The most common side effects occur within 24 hours or immediately post treatment. These include: swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness.

Immediate side effects usually disappear within days. However, depending on the type of dermal filler used, it can take a few weeks. All our injectors are available for follow-up consultations if you have any concerns.

I am booked in for cosmetic injectables. Do I need to do anything beforehand?

Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.

Do Dermal Fillers hurt?

Dermal Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. Pain is such a personal and subjective thing. It all depends on your tolerance and on the treatment area.

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

Dermal fillers can last up to three to six months and in some cases longer. Lips are a high activity area as we use them all the time, this can impact how long the results will last. Please speak to your Cosmetic Injector about this.
